“Unlocking Hormonal Harmony: Exploring Estrogen Metabolism’s Key Influencers – Liver Health, Methylation, and Dutch Test Insights”

Let’s talk about these areas that all affect estrogen metabolism.
1.) Liver Health
2.) Methylation
3.) Estrogen Metabolism

Note that the test is a DUTCH Test from DUTCH.
You can buy and pick up this test from our gym: Success Functional Health Coaching.
Our three areas covered in greater detail———————-⬇️
1.) Liver Health
When assessing the health of our liver, I am looking at its effects on Estrogen clearance from the body, and we can see this in phases 1 and 2 of detoxification on the Dutch test. Why is this poor detox an issue? Many issues come with poor estrogen detoxification, more significant cancer changes, estrogen excess compared to progesterone, and weight loss resistance. When looking at this, we can go more into phase 1 another time because we have the 16-OH-E1, 4-OH-E1, and 2-OH-E1 (the 2-OH-E1 is shown in the image, and you can see it’s in range). In summary, when the liver detox pathways are blocked or not functioning correctly, excess estrogen can cause many issues. I use a Functional medicine-based Flush (not a cleanse or anything crazy) to get this in balance. Liver health can be assessed with AST & ALT via Blood Work also.

2.) Methylation
What is Methylation?
Methylation is a fundamental biochemical process that involves adding a methyl group (CH3) to DNA, RNA, proteins, and other molecules in the body. This modification influences gene expression as a molecular switch that can turn genes “on” or “off.” Methylation is pivotal in many physiological processes, including DNA repair, detoxification, neurotransmitter synthesis, hormone metabolism, and immune system function.
Precision Analytical Inc. (Dutch Test) is a comprehensive assessment tool that measures various aspects of hormone metabolism, including methylation. The Dutch test can provide valuable insights into this process.
When reading the Dutch Test, we want to see that the 2-Methoxy-E1 is half of the 2-OH-E1: or a 1:2 ratio). As seen in the after dutch, my client is a 1:2 ratio, which puts the Methylation-Activity in the middle range (as seen on the after lab)… It is much Improved from the 1:3 before.

3.) Understanding Estrogen Metabolism and Its Assessment through the Dutch Test
The mechanism by which the body breaks down and removes estrogen hormones is called estrogen metabolism. Women produce most estrogen from their ovaries, while males only generate it in small amounts. One of its functions is regulating the menstrual cycle along with aiding in maintaining healthy bones and promoting good cardiovascular function. Additionally, effects on mood and cognition are noted as well.

The Importance of Estrogen Metabolism:
To maintain a healthy hormone level & balanced body function, the body must metabolize estrogen properly. However, disrupting how our bodies process estrogen can lead to a potentially dangerous condition known as estrogen excess or dominance. This imbalance may increase your chances of developing illnesses like breast cancer or endometriosis. Targeted strategies for promoting optimal hormone balance can be produced by health practitioners who understand and assess estrogen metabolism, giving them insights into potential imbalances.
Suppose you are experiencing any difficulties or imbalances with your hormonal function. In that case, we can consult and see if we can help improve your symptoms by using natural remedies, such as I did with my client here. We used lifestyle factors, dietary adjustments, and a small list of supplements that naturally occurred and helped to rebalance the body.
